The Syn-Apps Patent-Pending Paging Relay is a unicast to multicast hardware device (PoE) that eliminates the need to enable multicast configurations across a WAN connection and the need for a SA-Announce server to be deployed at each remote location. Syn-Apps Paging Relay is a device small enough to hold in one hand and installation is as simple as connecting it to the LAN with a single Ethernet cable.
When a page is triggered which requires sending audio over the WAN, SA-Announce will send a single unicast stream to each remote Paging Relay. The Paging Relay will then use LAN multicast to send it to the appropriate end points. This is just as efficient as placing a SA-Announce server in each location but at a fraction of the cost, virtually no configuration and practically no day 2 support. Since it is a hardened appliance, it does not suffer from the same maintenance and stability issues as a Windows Server. It also requires absolutely no technical expertise be present at the remote site.
