CUCM Settings

There are two settings in CUCM 8.x, 9.x, 10.x, and 11.x that, if not set correctly, prevent Cisco phones from receiving SA-Announce notifications. The Secured Authentication URL setting must be populated and the Web Access setting must be Enabled.

Verify Secured Authentication URL is populated.

  1. Navigate to System > Enterprise Parameters > Secured Phone URL Parameters.
  2. Populate the Secured Authentication URL field with the same value present in the URL Authentication field.
    EX: http://[serverIP]/SA-Announce/PhoneServices/Authenticate.aspx
  3. Save changes.
  4. Reboot phones.

Verify Web Access is Enabled

  1. Navigate to Device > Phone.
  2. Search for the phone that is not working. Click on the Device name in the search results list.
    To search by model number, change Find Phone where to Device Type contains, enter the model number, and click Find.
  3. Navigate to Product Specific Configuration Layout at the bottom of the page.
  4. Set Web Access to Enabled.
    Tip: This field defaults to Disabled for some phone models.
  5. Save changes.

Important: The following instructions are outside the scope of Syn-Apps Support.
Use of these instructions is left to the discretion of the customer.

Set Web Access to Enabled via Bulk Administration

This change requires phones to be reset. Consider scheduling this change during a maintenance window.
Search will have to be by Device Type.
Searching for more than 1 phone model will not allow Web Access option to be displayed.

  1. Navigate to Bulk Administration > Phones > Update Phones > Query.
  2. Change Device Name to Device Type.
  3. Search for desired phone model and click Next.
  4. Do one of the following:
  • Select Reset Phones, if phone is NOT currently in use.
  • Select Don't Reset/Restart phones/Apply Config, if phone IS in use.
  1. Check Web Access
  2. Select Enabled.
  3. Select Run Immediately.
  4. Select Submit.
  5. Repeat to change additional phone models.

For Phones in CUCM:

  1. Navigate to System > Enterprise Phone Configuration.
  2. Set HTTPS Server to http and https Enabled.
  3. Set Web Access to Enabled.
  4. Save changes.
  5. Navigate to Device > Device Settings > Common Phone Profile.
  6. Click Find in the search parameters.
  7. Click Shared Common Phone Profile.
  8. Under Product Specific Configuration Layout set Web Access to Enabled.
  9. Click Save > Apply Config or Save > Reset.
