Enable SA-Announce Notifications on Cisco DX Endpoints

Install Syn-Apps’ SA-Announce DX Android app on DX phones so they can receive SA-Announce notifications, the same as other Cisco IP Phones.

Before You Begin

• You must be running SA-Announce version 9.0.18 for later.
• The Syn-Apps SA-Announce DX APK is included with SA-Announce.
• IIS is configured to access the APK when you upgrade to SA-Announce version 9.0.18.

Configure CUCM

Create Cisco Phone Service to install APK to Cisco Phone.

1. Navigate to CUCM > Device > Device Settings > Phone Services.
2. Click Add New.
3. Input the required information.
   1. Service Name: com.synapps.dx
   2. Service URL: http://xx.xx.xx.xx/SA-Announce/APK/dx.apk, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP of the SA-Announce server.  For example http://10.10.10.10/SA-Announce/APK/dx.apk.
   3. Service Category: Android APK.
   4. Service Type: Standard IP Phone Service.
   5. Enable: Checked.

4. Leave Service Version field blank.
5. Click Save.

Subscribe Phones to Phone Service

1. Navigate to Device > Phone.
2. Find/click on the desired phones.
3. Click the Related Links drop-down, select Subscribe/Unsubscribe Services, and click Go.
4. Select com.synapps.dx and click Next. 
5. Click Subscribe.

Phones should automatically reboot and install the app.

Launch the Syn-Apps App

Due to phone limitations, the SA-Announce DX app must be manually launched from the phone after it’s installed. You won’t need to do this with updates.

Add to SA-Announce Groups

Add the DX phones to the appropriate groups in SA-Announce.
