Set Static MAC Address on Virtual Machines

Syn-Apps licenses are registered with the existing MAC address. By default, both Microsoft VSPhere and VMware virtualization software are designed to leverage dynamic MAC addresses. When the VM reboots, the MAC address can change, which will cause license errors.  A static MAC address can be set to prevent license errors.

Guest Virtual Machine Server Requirements for Syn-Apps Software

• Microsoft .Net 3.5 (http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/0/f/60fc5854-3cb8-4892-b6dbbd4f42510f28/dotnetfx35.exe)
• The Syn-Apps installer will download and install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Express.
• 2 gigabytes of system memory (minimum requirement).
• 10 gigabytes of hard disk space on top of OS requirements (minimum requirement).
• Processor with at least 2 cores.
